The largest beaches are the Front Strand, Claycastle and Redbarn Beach – Don’t forget to try our brand, spanking new boardwalk running between the Front Strand and Claycaslte Beach! History

As a heritage town, take in some of Youghal’s most historic buildings and sites by following Youghal’s Heritage Trail. Or lose yourself for a day exploring St. Mary’s Collegiate Church, a place that oozes history from every corner and crevice. Don’t forget to march along the battlements of the second longest Town Walls in Ireland and spare a thought for the poor souls tortured and hung from the Clock Gate, a tower that splits North and South Main Street. Just 10 minutes from Youghal is Ardmore with its famous round tower and the heritage town of Lismore is only a half hour drive. Learn all about the Titanic and its ill fated voyage at the Cobh Heritage Centre (circa. 20 minute drive). For castles, visit Barryscourt Castle, a fine example of an Irish Tower House and another 20 minutes drive!

As well as fabulous food, bars and clubs, why not try your luck with a night at the races – Youghal’s Greyhound Stadium holds race nights every Monday and Friday. Aura Leisure Centre boasts a swimming pool, sauna, gym, steam room and cafe. Perk’s Entertainment Centre has over 70,000 square feet of indoor entertainment for all the family including bowling alley, adventure play area and of all the rides of the funfair for children. The ‘Path to Health’ is a 2KM (4KM return) walk that starts at the Mall House and ends at the Front Strand. Stunning views along Lighthouse Hill out over Youghal Harbour provide the perfect backdrop. You can also use the outdoor exercise equipment along the way. Download the brochure here

  The Jameson Experience at Midleton Distillery – Take a tour of the distillery where Jameson is crafted into one of the world’s premier whiskeys (circa 15 minute drive).
  Leahy’s Open Farm – Lots of animals on display including goats, snakes, camels and tons of activities for the kids (circa. 20 minute drive).
  Mahon Falls – A spectacular 80 meter waterfall set amongst stunning scenery (circa one hour drive)
  Fota Wildlife Park – Come face to face with animals from all over the world (20 minute drive).
  The Old Deanery Gardens – Located in Cloyne the Old Deanery Gardens stretch for 16 acres  and feature  a restored walled garden, large wildlife lake, woodland walks and  a garden railway (30 minute drive).
  Waterford and Suir Valley – Experience the beauty of the Suir Valley from a period carriage and take in the wonderful panoramic views of the River Suir(45 minute drive).
  Take a leisurely cruise along the Blackwater River with Blackwater Cruises.
    Mitchelstown Cave is a world without sun, without time, a world where man almost feels an intruder, stumbling on a past age, and an era where nature reigns supreme. Approx one hour from Youghal (circa. 1 hour 15 minute drive).
